Jessica's Birthday Card

I made this card for my friend Jessica's birthday last week. I don't know why but it seemed to fit her.
The stamp sets are from a Limited Edition set that was available from TAC last month, their speckle background stamp, and a sentiment from a retired fall set. The butterfly is covered with stickles, and a few pearl beads added to it's back. The background on the torquise paper was made with my Scor-pal, and the scalloped edge with Friskar's treading water border punch.

Nathaniel's Birthday Card

My young friend Nathaniel turned 3 on Tuesday, and this is the card he received from us with his gift. One the inside I put "Hope your birthday is out of this world!"

The main image stamps is from High Hopes, isn't he cute? The background was made with some stamps I received from a friend, but don't know which company made them.
The card is also being entered into this week's High Hopes challenge, which is to create a birthday card with their stamps

Friends?

Isn't this image cute? It is the other image one of my sons picked from the prize I won from High Hopes. I can never decide whether these two are friends going out to vanquish the enemy together, or if the dragon has crept up behind the knight and is about to devour him.
This week's challenge over at High Hopes was to use a recipe on our cards. I needed to use 2 squares, one circle, and one scalloped edge.
The image was colored with a mix of colored pencils and water color pencil. The cardstock and patterned paper is all from TAC.

Julia's Entertainment

So, what does Julia do to entertain herself while the boys and I are busy doing schoolwork? Here are a few pictures to give you a sneak peak into her busy little world.

When she is good, she is very, very good....(here she is taking one of her brother Anthony's math tests)

And when she is bad, well, as you can see, she is horrid!

Thankfully the pen she used for this was erasable, and it cleaned up very easily

This lovely pale purple is the new color on both the walls of my stamp room and my daughter. I had just a tiny amount of paint left at the bottom of the bucket when I was finished, and I obviously didn't get the lid on very well. This one wasn't quite so easy to clean up. She ruined both our pants and shirts in the process of taking pics and cleaning her up. Believe it or not, the crying is not from being in trouble (which she was), but because she was upset I wouldn't let her look at my side of the camera while I took the pictures. She loves that she can see herself when I am done...she just hasn't figured out that she can't both be in the picture and watch it being taken.

Really she is loads of fun right now, although some days I could pull my hair out =o). I would love advice from any of you more experienced homeschool parents on how to keep Julia "gainfully employed" while the rest of us are doing our lessons. I try to make her a part of things, but at times, with her attention span, that is just not possible.

Aliens from....

well, outerspace of course, where else would they be from? Aren't these little guys cute?
I won some stamps from High Hopes a couple of weeks ago, and I let the boys each pick out an image...this was one of their choices. They have been having a lot of fun with it.

This is the inside of the card. I don't often decorate the inside, but this seemed to happen on it's own.

I apologize for the bad pics, but I am on a little bit of a time crunch, and couldn't wait for better lighting. This week's challenge over at High Hopes ends this evening, and I am cutting it close.

Oh, and the card was created using this week's Mojo Monday sketch. Have I mentioned how much I enjoy using sketches?

Relaxation

I love this set, "Playful Kitties," from TAC. The cats are just too cute. I used a sketch from CPS to make this card. I really like it, but Brandon's comment, when he saw it, was "But, Mom, the papers don't match!" What do you think? 'Cause I love 'em together.

Baby Card

A quick and simple baby card. I love this image from "Hello Baby" by TAC. I used watercolor pencils to color.

Scrapbook Page of Anthony

I love this picture of Anthony taken 8 years ago when he had his surgery through Shriners. He was so cute in his little hospital gown with his little backside showing. Of course he didn't care =).

The paper is TACs Toodle Loo, and the stamp set that I used for the background is "Wild for You" stamped with Versamark.

Hedgehog Blessings

I love this new paper from TAC, but then I love stripes. This set is called "Hedgehog Halloween", but I cut the center out of the jack-o-lantern this hedgehog is carrying and just made it an ordinary fall pumpkin. I like it better this way.

Happy Birthday High Hopes

This weeks challenge over at the High Hopes blog has some extra great prizes, that is because they're celebrating their birthday! Check it out HERE.

This card was done from the challenge sketch, and it uses the stamp "My Best for Him"
